vanilla bean crème brûlée

hello hello! this is a LATEEE post from over winter, but here you go! for dinner my mom cooked some baby back ribs with grilled asparagus and i made the dessert, crème brûlée, with my friend camille! i made a trip to trader joe’s and got some heavy cream and vanilla bean that didn’t break my wallet too much 😉 i used the recipe from Emeril Lagasse (i would not use it again though..) :

the ingredients were:

  • 2 cups of heavy cream
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1/2 of a vanilla bean, split and scraped
  • 6 large egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup of granulated sugar plus 6 tablespoons


Before going into the oven:


Sigh… this is going to be a bummer but they came out tooooo watery. so i would NOT use the recipe again. it was fun though 🙂

at least the ribs were BOMB!
